What is FIFI?
FIFI is a Chrome extension that analyzes the structure of Reddit discussion threads to surface high-signal escalation and contention points. It is a read-only tool. FIFI does not post, vote, reply, report, or interact with Reddit on your behalf in any way.
What we collect
FIFI collects only what is necessary to provide the service:
Your email address, used to create and identify your FIFI account
Your subscription status and plan tier (free or paid)
Anonymous, structural usage events — such as whether an analysis was started or a result was navigated to. These contain no Reddit content, no usernames, and no personally identifying information. These events are retained for 90 days and then permanently deleted.
Thread Watch records — when you star a Reddit thread to watch it, we store the Reddit post ID, post title, and thread URL so we can notify you when activity shifts and so the watched-thread list is available across your devices. Free users have up to two watched threads; paid users have up to twenty.
Structural metadata about analyzed threads — subreddit, post ID, and top escalation score — retained to power return-visit features such as Thread Revisit, Thread Aging, and Personal Intensity Benchmark. Paid users have this stored for every thread they analyze; free users have it stored only for their watched threads (up to two). No comment text or thread content is stored in either case.
What we do not collect
FIFI does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
Reddit comment text, thread content, or post bodies — these are transmitted to our server only for the duration of a single analysis run and discarded immediately afterwards. We never retain Reddit comments or post bodies in any database.
Your Reddit username or account identity
Your browsing history or activity outside of Reddit threads you choose to analyze
Your payment card details — these are handled entirely by Stripe and never touch our systems
Payments
FIFI uses Stripe to process subscription payments. When you subscribe, your payment details are entered directly on Stripe's hosted payment page and are governed by Stripe's own privacy policy. FIFI stores only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status — never your card number, CVV, or billing address.
Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time via the Stripe billing portal, accessible from the FIFI extension popup. Your Premium access continues until the end of your current billing period. For refund requests within 30 days of purchase, contact us at the address below and we'll process your refund.
How your data is stored
Account and subscription data is stored securely in Supabase, a managed cloud database provider with encrypted storage and row-level security. The fifiapp.app website (including this privacy policy) is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Your data is not shared with, sold to, or accessible by any third party other than Stripe (for payment processing), Supabase (for storage infrastructure), and Cloudflare (for web hosting).
Retention varies by data type. Anonymous usage events are kept for 90 days. Watched-thread records persist while you are watching the thread; if you stop watching, the record is marked accordingly and deleted after 30 days. Thread metadata for paid users is kept while your subscription is active and for 90 days after it ends. Some operational logs (for diagnosing technical issues) are kept for longer but contain no Reddit content or personally identifying information. You may request deletion of all your data at any time — see "Your rights".
Cookies and local storage
FIFI stores your authentication token locally in your browser using Chrome's extension storage API. This is used solely to keep you logged in between sessions. No third-party cookies or tracking pixels are used.
Permissions
FIFI requests only the Chrome permissions required for the features described above:
storage — to keep your FIFI authentication session active between browser sessions, and to remember settings such as your watched threads list locally.
activeTab — to read the current Reddit page URL and DOM in order to identify the thread you are viewing, render FIFI's analysis overlay, and calculate how much of the thread Reddit has rendered on screen.
tabs — to open the Stripe checkout page in a new browser tab when you initiate a Premium upgrade.
notifications — to surface a system notification when one of your watched threads shows meaningful new activity.
alarms — to schedule the background polling that powers Thread Watch.
Host access to reddit.com — to fetch the public JSON for the thread you are analyzing, and (when Thread Watch is active) to periodically check that thread's public comment count. FIFI never reads, accesses, or interacts with your Reddit account.
Host access to supabase.co — to communicate with FIFI's own backend (authentication, subscription status, and the scoring engine). This is FIFI's own infrastructure, not a third-party data collector.
Limited Use
FIFI's collection and use of user data adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
FIFI uses the data described above only to provide and improve the user-facing features described on FIFI's Chrome Web Store listing and in FIFI's user interface.
FIFI does not transfer user data to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve the features (Stripe, Supabase, Cloudflare — see "How your data is stored"), for security purposes, or to comply with applicable law.
FIFI does not use or transfer user data for serving advertising, including personalized or interest-based advertising.
FIFI does not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
FIFI does not allow humans to read user data, except where the user gives affirmative consent for specific data, where it is necessary for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or where the data has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
Your rights
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time. To do so, email us at the address below. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
You may also request a copy of the data we hold about you. The same contact address applies.
Children
FIFI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of FIFI after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
